Terms and Conditions



These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the online property tax payment services provided by the Bengaluru City Corporation through its official portal https://bbmptax.karnataka.gov.in/

By accessing or using the online payment facility, the taxpayer agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. General

*   The online property tax payment facility is provided to enable taxpayers to pay the property tax and related dues conveniently using approved digital payment modes.
*   This service is governed by rules and regulations of the GBG Act 2024 and the Government of Karnataka, and other applicable laws.
*   City Corporation reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service or any part thereof without prior notice.

2. Payment Gateway Services

*   Payments can be made using debit/credit cards, net banking, UPI, wallets, or other digital modes as enabled by City Corporation’s authorized payment gateway partners.
*   The payment gateway service provider only facilitates online payment transactions and does not determine or verify the correctness of property details or tax amounts.
*   All payments made through the online portal are processed in real time, subject to the availability of network and banking services.

3. Transaction Confirmation and Receipts

*   Upon successful payment, the system will generate a digital receipt bearing the SAS/PID number, transaction ID, and payment reference number, and other details about the subject property.
*   Taxpayers are advised to download and retain a copy of the payment receipt as proof of payment.
*   In case of any delay or failure in generating the receipt, the taxpayer may verify the transaction status under the “Payment Status” option on the portal.

4. Failed or Duplicate Transactions

*   If the payment transaction fails but the amount is debited from the payer’s account, the same will be automatically refunded by the respective bank/payment gateway within the days specified as per their policy.
*   Taxpayers are advised not to make duplicate payments. In case of duplicate payment, a refund or adjustment will be made after verification by City Corporation’s Finance/Reconciliation Team.

5. Data Privacy and Security

*   City Corporation does not store or retain any payment card or bank account details.
*   All transactions are processed through secure, PCI-DSS-compliant payment gateways, ensuring encryption and confidentiality of user data.
*   Personal information provided by taxpayers shall be used solely for official purposes related to property tax assessment, collection, and reconciliation.

6. Dispute Resolution

*   Any disputes related to property details, tax assessment, or demand amount must be addressed with the concerned jurisdictional office.
*   Transaction-related queries or refund requests should be made through https://bbmptax.karnataka.gov.in/Forms/grievancesreq.aspx
